The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the rate of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
